Vintage Boehm Porcelain Rose - Elegance – Slightly damaged
The rose up for sale is part of Edward Marshall Boehm "Rose Collection." and is called the 'Elegance'. The `Elegance' is slightly damaged. It has one petal broken and it can be easily seen if looked for. The underside of one of the petals reads "BOEHM Limited Issue Elegance Made in England".
This rose would be a gorgeous addition to anyone who collects porcelain flowers!
It has a base of bronze finished leaves and stems with thorns.
Boehm has long been recognized for creating pure porcelain from the whitest and purest clays and the exacting details of its artists. Each piece is hand-crafted using traditional methods derived from the ancient Chinese process of porcelain-making. The porcelain is fused at very high temperatures; sunlight, cold, water and passage of time will not affect it or fade the artwork.
The Boehm Studio was started in 1950 by Edward and Helen Boehm and as early as January 1951, The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired two of their first sculptures.
