For sale is this AMAZINGLY detailed artist made two + room box museum display. This came from the collection of the Angel's Attic Dollhouse Museum in Santa Monica, California which closed its doors in 2017.
This was made by John Masterman in 1976, and this is signed and dated on the top. I have the companion piece also for sale. They were likely made to be displayed together in a museum.
There are two rooms (plus a hallway/entryway). Each room is fully furnished and decorated by the artist with real hand made furniture in what I believe is 1/24 scale (for example dining chairs measure 1.5" tall and .5" wide). The detail on such tiny pieces is amazing! The dining room measures (interior measurement 7" x 6", and the family room measures 10" x 6". The hallway measures 2" x 6". Outside dimensions are 13" x 12.5"x 5" tall.
Overall the interior is excellent, and displays beautifully. The lamp in the family room is broken, and the floor lamp appears to be missing its shade. There appears to also be a repair to the leg of a dining chair. The furniture is glued down. The outside is plain pressboard, but could be encased, painted or otherwise adorned to make it more attractive. The ceilings are mostly unadorned, so the tops could also be removed or replaced with glass for display. Don't miss this chance- this is not a mass produced item, but one of a kind! I have one other similar piece by this artist also for sale.
