For auction is this MARVEOUS vintage Tynietoy doll house wall clock. This is Tynietoy catalog item number 1100 "Banjo Willard clock- Hand painted with brass eagle and side scrolls". This item came from the now closed Santa Monica dollhouse museum in California, and is old unused deadstock purchased by the directors of the museum at auction years after the factory closed in 1952 and kept in storage ever since!
This clock is in very good condition, and measures 3.5" long x 1" wide. It has a mahogany finish. The dial is painted, but there is no painted scene on the bottom half as is common.
This is stamped on the bottom, and was made by Tynietoy somewhere between the 1920s-early 1950s. Tynietoy was founded by two women in the early 1920s, and each piece of furniture was hand-painted by students at the Rhode Island School of Design. Tynietoy’s high-end (and high-style) playthings sold at stores like Marshall Field’s and F.A.O. Schwarz.
