What a rare treat to present this most fascinating Antique Limoges France Hand Painted French Coffee Pot or Tea Pot. Measures 7 3/4” Tall to the top of the handle and 7 1/2” to the top of the spout and is 8” Wide.. This Museum Quality piece is signed by F.H.Spear. There is an article in US archives from a newspaper that did a write up about Ester Miler and her work. It states in the article that F H Spear was actually an apprentice employed by Ester herself, one of many apprentices. Flora Hall Spear helped with all the painting work as Ester had so many orders she could not keep up on her own. When comparing the works of Miler and Spear, the brushwork is almost identical in style... This beauty has the Roses she is known for and Bumble Bee’s.. The ornate coffee pot is unique with a incredible handle and large opening along the top.. The Piece is MINT with no damage or repairs.. The gold is in Excellent condition, my guess is it has always been a cabinet piece, and was as long as I have owned it, which was many years. Marked with the T&V Limoges Mark which dates it from 1891. If you like to see more of her work, check out the Complete set I have since sold listed in my shop.. you can see her work. Phenomenal work. This piece is outstanding in every way! Here is a little more on this most talented artist. Ms. Miler was born Ester Buckingham Horlbeck on March 20, 1861 in Charleston, South Carolina. Around 1891, she moved to New York City with her husband and children and soon began a business decorating porcelain. Her talent gained her much attention and Miler was featured in the New York Times in 1896. She died in East Orange, NJ in 1931.
