Victorian hand-painted on Porcelain pendant locket depicting a Renaissance looking boy. He wears a peacock feather in his cap and he is looking to his right. The background is a rich blue grey. This painting is very fine. The detail is amazing as you can see. The hallmark for the maker is a script 7 with a line through the center. I don't know this hallmark. No other hallmarks. The bail has black enamel that has had some repair many years ago. The back of the locket closes well. There is a piece of plastic covering the back. The locket measures 1 5/8" X 1 3/8" without the bail. Condition is very good. I would date this wonderful pendant locket at c1860's-70's. I believe this locket is British in origin.
