K2 And Apatite Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace
Brand new and exciting semi precious gemstone cabochon material known as K2 or K2 Azurite Granite. It is a Granite stone with lovely splotches of royal blue Azurite. It is highly unusual to find a copper mineral (Azurite) in a granite rock. It is believed the granite formed first and then the Azurite crystalized within the granite grains. This gorgeous gemstone cabochon material is coming from northern Pakistan. K2 Azurite Granite rough rock was mined at the base of the second highest mountain in the world, K2, which is second in height only to Mt. Everest, hence the name.
I set this beauty in a sterling silver setting with a complimentary 10mm apatite gemstone and two sterling silver flowers. The pendant measures approx 2 1/2 inches and is hung from an 18'' sterling silver chain. A very unusual one of a kind pendant.
