A unique collection of three cobalt blue bordered porcelain plates with large white center; two with applied decoration of old-fashioned kitchen decals. An economic way to decorate anything you thought needed a touch-up was to use these decals, easily available and could be applied almost anywhere in the 1940's kitchen. You just wet them with water to dissolve the glue. Where are the rest of the plates? Why are only two decorated? We'll never know. Found in the back of my grandmother's china cabinet 25 years ago.
Would look really chic hanging on display in any country kitchen. Plates measure 7-3/8-inches and each weighs just over 2 pounds. The plates are unmarked on the back and a manufacturer or pattern has not been found. They are in very good vintage condition with some loss of the decal edges over the years on the apple/pear one. Perhaps they could even be removed. That decision left to the buyer's discretion.
