Built in 1915 in downtown Champaign the Inman today is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Six stories tall and described as Classical Revival style and boasting it's original yellow brick facade. Its history as a hotel lasted nearly 60 years and then in 1974 became home to the National Academy of Arts. In 1991 it became Inman Place and the home for a complete senior living center with 64 apartments.
The building has been recently completely renovated. Two pieces of Inman Hotel stationery are included with the postcard. At the top it brags as being "Absolutely Fireproof." The linen card has been glued to the stationery and although loose on one corner, I hesitated to remove it completely to read the back of it. At the bottom is written the date: 5/22/39. Measures 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches.
