With conflicting birth dates, we can still say that this legendary singer and actress is now nearly 90 (give or take a year) and known more now for her activities for animal welfare. Her career began in 1939, but she leaped to fame with her first hit, "Sentimental Journey." During her successful career there were nearly 40 films on her resume and more than 30 record albums.
This one is numbered CL-942 and dated 1956. Singing with Paul Weston and his Hollywood orchestra, the songs include: The Song is You, Hello My Lover Goodbye, But Not For Me, I Remember You, I Hadn't Anyone till You, But Beautiful, Autumn Leaves, Don't Take Your Love From Me, There Will Never Be Another You, Gone With the Wind, The Gypsy in My Soul, Day By Day. Nice slow mood music for easy listening.
Includes the original record sleeve which advertises other Columbia records (`The oldest name in records') and on the back instructions on how to take care of your records and the record needle. Jacket in good condition with some edge wear. Note that the edges of this album were protected with yellow tape that is now fragile and beginning to deteriorate with age. This LP has been cleaned, tested, and approved for your listening pleasure. Sounds great. All records will be shipped in approved record mailers.
