Sharpen all those knives and scissors with this Mid-Century kitchen gadget made by General Electric that still works like a charm. May have been a 1960's wedding gift or a later Christmas gift. Used as needed until an electric knife came into my kitchen and with several serrated knives at hand, this piece found its way to the back of the kitchen cabinet where it stayed for the past several years. When we moved a few years ago it came to rest in another bottom drawer.
Still carries the original instructions attached to the cord and tucked up underneath in a clever hide-away. Everything you need to know to operate and clean it is included in that little brochure. These units became quite popular at a time when electric kitchen gadgets were popping up everywhere. Features sliding on and off switch, a built in scissors guide, two slots for knife sharpening (one does one side of the knife; switch it to the other slot and it sharpens the opposite side). Plastic safety shield on top is a bit age discolored and some minor scratches on the chrome top. Model No. 13NS2. Weighs almost 3 pounds. Measures 7 x 3-3/4 inches and is 3-3/4 inches tall.
