Vintage black satin cosmetic bag for the lady to carry in her purse. Two full-size dividers in the front perhaps for a small handkerchief or a couple of dollars. The back is divided into three sections for a compact, lipstick, and perhaps a small snap container of rouge. A nearly hidden section under a tiny front flap could hold small coins. Satin lining inside is a pretty plum color. Snaps closed in the front with a spiffy slanted over-flap. Gold cursive signature on the lining reads "B. Dainty". Circa late 1940's or early 1950's. Measures 7-1/4" wide and 4-1/2" tall. Online history of the B. Dainty Novelties Co. found only newspaper advertisements dated 1947 to 1952 in Pearl River, NY. Compact is not included. Please note camera close-up of the B. Dainty signature has distorted the color.
