50% OFF - These promotional postcards seem to have been as common as pennies. What better way for hotels and restaurants to advertise than to give them away to customers who would in turn send them on to all their friends? Included here are four vintage postcards from the Miami area: two hotels and a well-known Miami restaurant. The Capri postcard lists it as an Address of Distinction, newly air conditioned rooms, a hideaway cocktail lounge and a beautiful swimming pool. The Capri on Collins Avenue is still a top-of-the-line place to stay in Miami.
The White Hart Hotel & Cabana Club was located at Ocean Drive and 3rd Street with Jack Gordon as owner and manager, the card says. This card may be dated a bit earlier, perhaps the 1940's.
Picciolo's Restaurant was located at 135 Collins Ave. Date on the back of the postcard is written simply June 1952. The fate of the White Hart and Picciolo's is unknown as neither could be found with online searches. All measure 5-1/2 by 3-1/2 inches and are unused, except one with a date (as shown).
