Embellished with silver columns and fancy scroll work and flowers, this early cardboard portrait frame holds the photo a young Armenian immigrant to America, a gift to my grandmother many years ago. An excellent example of art and design for the period provided by the studio in Baltimore where I believe the photo was taken. Measures 9-1/2" tall and 5-3/4" wide. Does show wear around the edges after 90 years. Tears at the top and bottom indicate the presence of what was once a fold-back easel for table top display. Name of the person is known if you have Armenian ancestors who lived in Baltimore.
