Should call this a "whatever" bowl, that is, whatever you want to put in it. For a time we used it on a table near the back door for tossing our car keys into when we came home. There are certainly any number of possibilities. Monkey pod wood has been well known for many years as a source for artisans to craft assortments of shop gifts for tourists in Hawaii. A beautifully patterned natural wood and very light weight as well. This piece is leaf-shaped with a smooth wavy top edge and a stout handle (the leaf stem). On the back still faintly visible is a partially readable black stamp: "Woods of Hawaii ...Honolulu...Monkey Pod Wood." Measures at the longest point 8-3/8" by 6-inches and 1-1/4" high.
