Woven by hand in the 1970's on a self-made loom by a retired duPont engineer who enjoyed every minute of his labors and delighted in showing how easy it could be done. A small storeroom adjacent to the kitchen had been converted into his "loom room" and was warmed by the back of the kitchen fireplace. Given to me as a gift and stored for forty years at the bottom of a large cedar chest. Colors of red, blue, and tan parade lengthwise, crossed and bordered by a serpentine pattern. Fringe on each end are the original ecru color as they were stretched on his loom. Measures 33-1/4" long (not counting the fringe) and 24-1/4" wide.
