Antique Late 1800's Victorian Sterling Vinaigrette Perfume for Chatelaine Pendant.
Lovely piece meant to be attached to a chatelaine in Victorian times......but beautiful worn as a pendant today. Comprised of sterling silver fashioned into an elegant vinaigrette or perfume bottle meant to carry scent (there is still an ever so slight remnant of a bygone fragrance inside). The bottle is graced with an intricately detailed hinged cap, a fleur de lis type pattern with the adornment of bees above the shoulder line. Beautiful as a keepsake or add an additional ring and simply slip a neck chain through and wear as a pendant, at your desired length.
Unmarked. Tested positive for sterling silver.
Measures 3 inches high including the chain by 1 3/8 inch wide.
Weight is .47 ozt ( correct measurement for sterling ) or 11.7 grams.
There is an slight concave on the back possibly from repeated motion / pressure of the thumb. Antique condition is otherwise excellent. Treasure!
