Antique Early 1900's Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne Enamel Iris's Heart Buckle
This is an exquisite piece comprised of two equal size, left and right, half heart shape sections....joined together with a simple hook closure to form this beautiful buckle. The Japanese cloisonne enamel technique used here is referred to as Ginbari. Ultra fine and highly detailed work displaying slim irises in tight bud, slightly open, and full bloom among a field of green. Deep periwinkle, orchid and golden color blooms set against a shaded aqua background. Copper setting.
Buckle is unsigned....Japanese in origin.
Buckle (joined together) measures 2 inches high by 2-5/8 inches wide. The belt loop openings measure 1-1/4 inch.
There is a tiny are of loss to the top layer of the clear glass finish (right of the top of the orchid iris). Antique condition is otherwise excellent. Fine!
