Vintage 1920's Transitional Cut Diamond 14K Gold Platinum Drop Earrings.
Gorgeous nearly antique drop earrings are comprised of two high quality transitional cut .35 carat diamond solitaires.... set in raised platinum heads....nestled in chased and pierced yellow gold square mountings. The solitaires, in there classic settings are simply suspended from pierced kidney wire findings. Box is for not included, used for display purpose only.
The diamonds are a type of Transitional cut or what is currently classified by GIA as a Circular Brilliant cut. This type of cut falls in the time line between the Old European cut and today's Round Brilliant cut.
Diamonds are estimated in the mountings with limitations, using GIA grading standards. Weight is approximately .35 carat each. Total combined weight is approximately .70 carat. Color G/H, Clarity VS1.
Earrings bear the remnants of 14K stamp on the wires. Total weight for the earrings is 2.2 grams.
Earring measure 1 inch long (from the top of the kidney wire to the bottom of the setting). The mountings measure 5/16 inch square.
The kidney wires could be just a little bit straighter. Vintage condition is otherwise excellent. Precious!
