Antique Late 1800's Belle Epoque Precious Gemstone 18K Ring.
This is a fabulous piece! Comprised of yellow gold in an ornate fleur de lis type design....set with a pear shaped ruby in the center, a round sapphire and emerald set north and south.... embedded with tiny single cut diamonds. The emerald, sapphire and two diamonds set east and west are set open back....the remainder of the gemstones are set in closed back fashion. Intricate braided scroll or garland design shank wraps beautifully around the finger.
Ring is stamped 750 (18K) on the inside of shank. European in origin.
The gemstones are mixed Antique cut stones: Pear shaped ruby is approximately .15 carat in size. Round cut emerald with flat table is approximately .10 carat in size. Round rose type cut sapphire is approximately .05 carat in size. Single cut diamonds are approximately (nine) @ .02 each and (four) @ .03 each.
Total gemstone weight is approximately .50 - .60 carat conservatively.
Setting or mounting measures 3/4 inch high (vertically) by 1/2 inch wide (horizontally).
Weight is 4.7 grams.
Ring size falls just in between a size 7-1/4 and 7-1/2. Ring could be re-sized by a trusted jeweler accustomed to working with antique jewelry but the result may alter the braid scroll or garland design of the shank or band.
Appears to have been tucked away for safekeeping. Excellent antique condition. Marvelous!
