Early 1920's Art Deco 14K White Gold Filigree Old European Cut Diamond Simulated Emeralds Pendant or Brooch.
This is an incredible piece! Comprised of 14K white gold expertly fashioned into an elongated filigree pendant that converts to a brooch with a simple turn or fold over of the bale. The outstanding filigree work is finely tuned displaying a very lacy effect.....pleasingly encountered in these wonderful early Art Deco pieces that were fashioned just after or crossing over the Edwardian Period. The pendant / brooch is embellished with nine glittering diamonds which are a combination of both old European cut and old mine cut diamonds and finished with two small marquise cut emerald green colored glass stones (commonly encountered in fine jewelry from this time period). Nice size piece, yet refined and elegant, that will be certain to garner attention. The bale will accommodate a fine to medium weight neck chain.
Pendant / Brooch is stamped 14K on the clasp.
Nine diamonds are approximately .80 - 1.00 total carat weight. The largest diamond in the center is approximately .12 to .15 carat in size. Diamonds are very bright and scintillating. The two beautiful faceted emerald green marquise stones are simulated emeralds (glass /paste).
Pendant measures 2-1/4 inches long by 1 inch wide.
Weight is 6.2 grams.
There are a few tiny disconnects in the filigree here and there (age appropriate) does not affect the integrity of the piece. Vintage condition is otherwise excellent. Exquisite!
