Small Original Leather Doll Shoes Very Special 2 1/2" long
These small shoes are made of cream leather and lined and trimmed with cream colored canvas. There is contrast stitching in a dark beige all along the tops and they have a lovely, modified scallop shape on the uppers. Toes are decorated with little bows of golden beige cotton cording ending in pom poms. They have a number 3 inscribed on the soles. There are gray thread loops at each ankle. I'm not sure how these were supposed to close. There might have been a button or another pom pom that the thread looped over at one time? They stayed on my doll's feet just fine without the closure. They are in wonderful condition other than a slit in the leather at one toe. It can be seen in the pictures. It seems to me it could easily be sewn up or glued. The slit never bothered me as it really wasn't obvious on my doll, so I left them alone. They measure 2 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide. If that is the exact measurement of your doll's foot and she has socks, you will need to find a bit bigger shoe. Circa late 1800's to early 1900's.
