This clock is solid brass and the glass has no scratches in it. It is in very good condition and it has all the parts. It was made circa 1928. It has a signed 'Waterbury Clock Co.' eight day time and strike movement which chimes ship's time with a beautiful sound. Very different than a regular clock. The clock strikes once at 12:30, twice at 1:00, three times at 1:30, four times at 2:00, five times at 2:30, six times at 3:00, seven times at 3:30, and eight times at 4:00 (all in a double stroke pattern). Then starts all over again striking once at 4:30, etc. The reason for this is the four hour ship's watch. A person would be on watch for four hours and then relieved after four hours by another person, etc.
The dimensions are 8.25 in. H x 8.25 in. W x 3.75 in. D.
