This versatile, clean lined, antique French Louis Philippe mirror is over 100 years old and can be used with almost any style of furnishing. Louis Philippe mirrors were made from the middle of the 1800s through the last half of the 19th century. On this example, there are motifs of linear beading surrounding the innermost area of the mirror. The half-round molding surrounding this has central panels on every side with beautifully incised floral and foliate motifs. The glass mirror was probably added at a later date. Red and yellow bole has been used on this wonderful Louis Philippe giltwood mirror from the 19th Century.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with intentional small punched decoration used on half round molding, minor losses and splits to gilding, commensurate with age. Minor loss of silvering to glass mirror
