Code 915-28 Pair of Large 18th Century Farm Doors from Belluno Italy
These impressive doors with an arched top date to the 1700’s and are from Belluno in Veneto (North Italy). Very geometrical in their design, the only motif that these doors have is a small semi-circle at the bottom center of the arch depicting beautiful scrolling leaves. Below the arch, are planks doweled together in a horizontal direction. The back of the doors have planks running vertically with two hand forged iron latches and two hand forged hinges. These were painted at some point, as you can make out previous reds and some blue.
These doors have an elegant simplicity and would be an asset to any entrance.
CONDITION: Very Good Antique Condition. One of the back or support boards missing as seen in photos. Minor losses of wood, rubs and scratches all commensurate with age. Old paint hues of red and some blue.
