This antique French gilt framed hunting painting depicts two bird dogs, one flat coated and one with long hair in the pointing position in a field of tall grasses and trees. In the foreground, a bird has been flushed out but does not appear to be the bird of choice.The painting was done by Maurice Etienne Dantan, who painted hunting scenes and landscapes, as well as other types of paintings.
This hunting painting is in superb condition and will be an attribute anywhere it is placed.
