This elegant antique French giltwood table top vanity mirror has a thick platform base containing a center drawer for valuables or make-up accessories. The shape of the mirror is arched with right angles. Motifs taken from the Louis XIV era surround the thick indented moldings. At the top center is a cherub seated upon a shell and pointing at an item on a shield that he is holding. Two gadrooned leaf c-scrolls surround the cherub and mirror. Two other cherubs rest upon scrolling acanthus leaves on either side of the bottom of the mirror. One has a flute while the other has a paper on which he is pointing to a specific area. The thick platform base has a center drawer and motifs of scrolling rinceau. There are two claw front feet and two block back feet.

Condition: Very good antique condition; re-gilded at some point in its history; old restorations, age separations; rubs and nicks to gilding and wood.
