This dignified, hand carved walnut and giltwood bust of a Bishop dates to the 1700’s. His mitre has two gilded motifs on either side of the front and is trimmed in gold. His robe is draped around his shoulders with a brooche with gold medallion. The back of his mitre has two straps hanging down from it. The quality of carving is excellent, and the deep walnut color is contrasted perfectly by the gold accents. Intact busts of this age and beauty are rare, and this noble antique from the 1700s will enhance any area it is placed in. The size is perfect for just about any room.
CONDITION: Good condition with minor age separations, chips, and old wormholes.
