This antique French painted trumeau mirror once graced a boiserie (wooden paneled room) in France. The glass was replaced at some point in its history. The hand carved wooden ornamentation in the panel above the mirror is that of a cluster of grapes surrounded by grape leaves. The simplicity of the mirror and the chipping of the old white paint belies the fact they were once in a more formal environment, though far from ostentatious.
CONDITION: Good Antique Condition; minor losses to wood on the right side, bottom molding, and motifs; chipping to paint.
