This rare French Regence Period commode has been made with a Kingswood veneer. The parquetry veneer on the sides is in a V-shape with the grain matching perfectly at the center. It is placed within a rectangular frame of parquetry veneered sections. The front is a serpentine shape with the same parquetry design on the four drawers. The corners are curved with double V-shapes. Gilt bronze hardware adorns the commode. The serpentine marble top conforms perfectly to the commode’s body. Perfect in size for smaller areas, this elegant commode will be the focal point in any area it is placed.
CONDITION: Minor rubs and scratches to veneer; minor losses to veneer in areas. Some of the locks seem to have been replaced, as well as upper middle keyhole escutcheon. All other hardware appears original. No keys
