Antique French Oil on Canvas Painting of a Farmyard Scene

Presented in oil on canvas, this French painting of chickens in a farmyard dates to the late 1800s. The signed painting depicts 11 chickens of various colors, foraging for food in a hay-lined yard. The overcast blue sky above thick trees with yellow, orange, and brown leaves indicates that it might be mid-autumn. Behind the pecking chickens is a beige house with a red roof and a larger brown building, with a small evergreen tree next to an open wood fence that encases the yard. A quaint pastoral scene, our French painting of a farmyard scene would make a welcomed addition to any room of the house.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Light rubs and scratches to the canvas. The painting is stretched over wood (unframed), with minor lifting to paper laid over the edges. Signed in the lower left hand corner. Currently not rigged for hanging.
