Dating to the early 1900’s, this French Faience (tin glazed earthenware) jardiniere has the coat of arms of Granville within a cartouche on the front. Granville is town along the coast of Normandy which produced faience decorative objects since the 18th or 19th century. This jardiniere has a white ground with hand painted motifs having colors of cobalt blue, yellow, orange, pale blue, brown, and pale olive green. C-scrolls, shells, beading and reticulated hearts are some of the motifs. Others are floral, foliate, diaper grounds and much more. There are six scrolling feet with a shaped apron all around. It is marked on the bottom. This stunning antique French Jardiniere will be wonderful on its own or filled with fresh or dried flowers.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition with minor chips and wear to relief in areas. See Photos.
