This elegant terra cotta statue dates to the 1700’s. It was found in the South of France, and has acquired a nice patina from sitting outdoors for some time. The statue is demurely sitting upon a mound that is draped in fabric. Both hands are proportionately off to the right side holding perhaps a rope or rag that is somewhat twisted with a decorated area for the hands. This graceful antique statue is close to 33 inches high and will go well on a table or pedestal.
CONDITION: Minor losses to terra cotta, some chips, and cracking toward base, but in strong, sturdy condition.
