These carved granite posts come from an old property on the West coast of France. They were used as markers for the beginning of a walking path through a wooded garden. Their estimated age is the end of the 17th century. Today, they can once again be used as garden posts/ornaments or as sculptural art inside the home. Western France, specifically the coastal regions of Brittany is known for its vast granite landscapes. It has been used as a main building material of the region for hundreds of years in everything from staircases to fireplaces, and of course private homes and chateaux.
CONDITION: Good strong condition with an old repair to leg of one post (see photo), abrasions, moss, old surface buildup.
