From France, this silvered bronze jardiniere is in the Art Nouveau period. Scrolling leaves are the predominant motif , with a few flower heads interspersed. The two handles are adorned with leaves and the feet are turned leaves. There is a tin liner for use with water. Art Nouveau was a reaction to the academic art of the 19th century, it was inspired by natural forms and structures, particularly the curved lines of plants and flowers
