Louis XIV ornamentation was imbued with symmetry, balance and majesty. From France, this remarkable Louis XIV style entry door has elegant inset panels with stepped out moldings on its frontage. The tall vertical moldings visually add to the height of this door. The center panel is arched with right angles and thick stepped out moldings. The side panels are arched over straight lines. A door knob would have been at the center of the door. The bottom indented center panel is a series of vertical motifs surrounded by out-stepped moldings. The inside of the door has a lighter color and still has some of its old iron hardware. This stately French door will add significance to any entry.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Recently refinished with a walnut coloration, old restorations, minor abrasions to wood, new door knob needed
