From the mountain of Northern Italy, this 18th Century walnut table refectory table has a certain elegant simplicity in its design. The thick top plank has beautiful graining with a few charming old wood insert repairs. The legs are subtly stylized lyre shapes, connected by a pierced stretcher that is adorned with circular floral and geometric motifs. The interiors of the legs have wooden bar reinforcements attached by iron studs. This is a beautiful surviving example of antique Northern Italian tables. It is a relatively simple design, has thick plank construction, and is made of a quality walnut wood with a deep and rich color.
CONDITION: Good antique condition, with old restorations, scratches and variations to finish, some faint old ring marks on top, all commensurate with age.
