Pair of Large Hand Painted Italian Plates
This large pair of Italian square plates are both marked on the back, and the hand painting on the front of each plate depicts perhaps a family’s coat of arms. You can see they are hand painted by the slight variations in image depictions. The colors are gold, yellows, blues, and rusts on a pure white ground. Both plates have hangers on their backs for wall display. These were made in the 20th century using the same techniques since the Renaissance period (Circa 1500).
These bright and cheerful Italian wall plates will bring a touch of color to any wall or plate rack.
CONDITION: Very good condition with visible old chip to top corner and slights rubs to edges (please see photos).
