Code 208-8A Italian Giltwood and Gilded Wrought Iron Five-Light Trophy Sconce
This attractive Louis XVI style sconce is actually Italian and dates to the second quarter of the 20th century. This particular style is known as a Trophy or Trophee, an allegorical of Science and Music. In this case, the upper terminal a furled bowknot, with the gilded wrought iron and wood candlearms. These motifs were prevalent in carvings, art, and furnishings of the Louis XVI period of the late 1700s. Please note, this is not electrified.
