This pair of Italian fruit baskets were finely carved in Italian limestone. The concave shaped baskets are overflowing with fruit such as apples, bananas, and pears. Each neck has been adorned with alternating motifs of a carved recession followed by fluting. The sharply carved angles of the leaves contrast nicely against the smooth, curving forms of the fruit. Circular plinths provide solid bases for our hand-carved Italian fruit baskets (carved out of one block). They can be installed architecturally as finials for entry posts or displayed as table accessories either inside or outdoors.

CONDITION: Good condition with minor rubs and losses. Light buildup with traces of moss and lichen. Stone is a natural material that can become darker or lighter from the elements.
