This antique French jardiniere is by Victor Saglier (1809-1894), Master Goldsmith and Silversmith from Paris France. This silvered jardiniere dates to the late 1800s and is stamped on the base. The acanthus leaf was one of Victor Saglier’s favorite motifs and is shown on the upper rim, as leaves of the central cartouche, as as well as the leaves representing four feet. Other foliate motifs are fine sprigs of oak leaves, and laurel leaves. This elegant antique French silver over bronze jardiniere will highlight any area of the home.
