Original vintage oil on canvas painting by a prominent New England artist, sculptor, printmaker and teacher Marion Huse (1896-1967). Marion Huse was born in Lynn, MA, studied at the New School of Design in Boston, the Carnegie Institute of Art in Pittsburgh, and in Europe. She was a WPA artist during the 1930s and later founded Springfield Art School. She exhibited widely in the US and Europe.

Wonderful country scene showing a church by railroad tracks in a mountain town. Painted with impressionistic details, fast impatient brushstrokes and simplified voluminous shapes, this is a great bold and expressive work! Signed in lower right "Marion Huse". Comes in nice vintage frame.
