Original oil on canvas painting by a famous Venezuelan artist Henry Bermudez (b. 1951). Henry Bermudez incorporates elements of Afro-Caribbean and indigenous South American cultures in his work. He participated in the XVII Venice Biennale and exhibited widely in Latin and North Americas and Europe. His works are in private collections around the world, as well as in museums, such as Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico and Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The painting shows a horse and a bird engaged in a battle in a mysterious landscape with weaving snakelike foliage and Aztec symbols in background. Beautifully painted in gorgeous green, brown and violet hues, with intricate details and solid prominent volumes, this is a stunning monolith work! Signed in lower right "Bermudez 95".
