Original oil painting by a famous New York School of Abstract Expressionism artist Albert Kotin (1907-1980). Albert Kotin is a well known artist that exhibited widely in the US, was a WPA artist that after WWII settled in New York City and became involved with the Downtown Group, an abstract expressionist group of artists that rented studios in lower Manhattan and mounted shows that established them as the dominant artistic force in the city at the time.
This is a wonderful work in a subdued color scheme with a gray, white, black and deep red landscape. A dynamic and expressive work!
