Original vintage painting by a well known Japanese American artist Oku Shigeo Okumura (1937-1993). The artist set up a studio in New York City, exhibited widely in USA, Europe, and Japan. His works are in permanent museum collections, such as the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Noyes Museum in New Jersey, as well as in private collections and galleries around the world. The work shows a house concert with a group in formal wear listening to a singer being accompanied on a piano. A dog and a flower vase frame the scene. The artist's attention to detail, his two dimensional style and symmetry, the unreadable facial expressions, create a mysterious still life like picture. Gorgeous whimsical and unique work! Signed in lower right corner "OKU 1973".
