Original oil painting by a Bulgarian artist Adolf (Constantin) Baumgartner-Stoiloff (1850-1924). Adolf Baumgartner-Stoiloff was born in Linz, Austria, studied in St. Petersburg Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, Russia. He is famous for his depictions of Russian genre scenes and horses. He exhibited widely and his works were reproduced in various publications of the time.

This painting is a scene from the life of a fishing village. Fishing boats are docked, families are carrying buckets. Painted with bold energetic brushstrokes with a subdued earthy color scheme, the work is a wonderful depiction of communal work and life. Signed in lower right corner "A. Baumgartner".
