Antique all bisque Mignonette doll with solid dome head, high forehead, closed mouth, and stationary glass eyes with lng finely painted upper and lower lashes. She is 4 1/4 inches tall. The eyebrows are brown, arched and long. She has dots of color in her nostrils and painted mouth with a very full upper lip. There is a tiny rub in the lip color on the upper lip. She is peg strung and evidence of restringing to the arms and head. Her arms are long with very slight bend at the elbows and cupped hands. Her stringing is very loose and as shown, the head became detached from the wooden peg while I was photographing her. The head is back on the body now. I took the opportunity while the head was off to photographed the head and attachment in detail. It looks like the neck cavity was kid lined. Note the mold seam around the rim of the solid dome head. No damage was noted to the bisque head as seen in the images. Also note there is a chip on the back thigh of the left leg, reflected in her price. I tried to photograph the mold numbers on the inside of the thigh - I have attached the images but can not make out what the numbers are. The torso is incised 10 very faintly between the shoulders. She has long white ribbed stockings with blue ribbon trim and brown single strap heeled shoes with tan soles. Her dress and unders appear to be original with fragile blue ribbon. She wears a long blonde antique wig with hair sewn to a firm cloth cap with dried glue inside. The hair is frizzly with very tight spiral curls and short curly bangs. I do think this is her original antique wig. The hair feels like a wool. She is just a wonderful little doll with an adorable little face despite the flaw on her thigh. I do recommend professional restringing for her.
