Vintage matched set of handsewn old china doll whites includes the petticoat and drawers, each trimmed with eyelet lace hems. The petticoat is 9 inches long and has a 9 1/2 inch waist. These two pieces were found together; the petticoat waistband is larger to allow for additional petticoats, possibly wool and or flannel petticoats underneath. It closes at the back waistband with a handsewn button hole and a milk glass button. All stitching on this piece is hand stitched. The drawers have an 8 inch waist and are 8 1/2 inches long. The waistband closes on the side with a handsewn button hole and a MOP button. The drawers are also hand sewn with a tiny rolled hem on the side seam opening. These are made of the same material, it feels like a cotton muslin, with similar eyelet lace at the hem, however, the laces are not an exact pattern match. These two pieces are clean and as found but they have not been recently laundered and do have age discoloration and brown spotting and yellowing visible when the skirt gathers are flared open. There are no hard stains and the materials could be easily soaked and whitened if desired.
