AESTHETIC BLUE TRANSFERWARE DINNER PLATE

BAMBOO PATTERN

John Meir and Sons Potteries

Tunstall, Staffordshire England

c. 1885

This Victorian aesthetic 9 1/2 " dinner plate is transfer printed in luscious blue. The crisp BAMBOO pattern features a very exotic and geometric border with stalks of bamboo running through the well of the pattern. Cartouches of a waterwheel village and outrageous flowers and a butterfly perched on the water complete the busy exotic scene. The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and travel to exotic lands.

Condition is EXCELLENT. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
