RARE BLUE AESTHETIC TRANSFERWARE COVERED MUFFIN DISH

This rare form is a Victorian Aesthetic movement covered muffin plate and cover is 8 " wide x 2 " tall, transfer printed in dark blue with subtle gilding. The printed transfer features Bluebirds flying around the perimeter of the plate and cover with fabulous geometrics and Japanesque cartouches surrounded by multitudes of flowers and a hidden bluebird deep in the foliage. Outstanding!
The piece is in EXCELLENT condition, clean shiny and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. It is absolutely gorgeous - elegant and well potted, with richly detailed transfers reflecting the Victorian love of the exotic.
