AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE POLYCHROME JUG OR PITCHER

TRENTHAM PATTERN

Edge and Malkin Potteries

Staffordshire England ~ c. 1884

This Victorian aesthetic 7 " tall x 5 " wide jug is transfer printed in dark rich brown with under the glaze hand coloring. The piece is engine turned, not moulded, and has beading and roulettes at the top and bottom of this fine piece.

The pattern features flower chain transfers to the ornate applied handle. Whispy fern fronds, dainty flowers and lovely Rose canes wrap around a cartouche of a peaceful Victorian scene of boats on a lake and a village beyond. The pattern repeats on both sides.

Condition is EXCELLENT, never used and pristine. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
